Darkness Divided, Charcoal Tongue
San Antonio quartet DARKNESS DIVIDED are not your typical metalcore act, blending elements of past and present American heavy metal against the anthem-loving, sing-along roots of hardcore, while keeping true to their spiritual conviction. The thunderous attack of razor sharp riffs alongside a crushing rhythmic backbone prove this band is a tour-de-force newcomer to the metal landscape. Hear the DARKNESS DIVIDED story when their Victory Records debut Written In Blood is released on August 19th 2014.
Vocalist Gerard Mora comments, "We are incredibly stoked to be a part of the Victory Records Family! We've always been fans of Victory's roster, and it's a blessing to be included with the many talented bands that Victory has worked with over the years."
Since releasing their first EP Chronicles (produced by Daniel Castleman) in May of 2012, the band's efforts are the singles "Redeemer" and "Voyager", both for which they have premiered music videos. DARKNESS DIVIDED recorded Written In Blood at Alchemist Recording Studio in San Antonio with Cory Brunnemann. The album was written with the idea that despite the struggles of life, people prevail through a spiritual salvation with Christ, as echoed in the track "The Hands That Bled", Mora declares "My Salvation was written in blood".
Joining the family with Mora are brothers Christopher Mora on guitar, Joseph Mora on bass and Israel Hernandez on drums. DARKNESS DIVIDED has developed an intense, high-energy live performance that has intrigued fans from clubs to festival stages across the United States, and has shared the stage with bands such as HASTE THE DAY, UNDEROATH, and FOR TODAY. Currently prepping for their debut's release, DARKNESS DIVIDED is keeping busy on the road, performing new tracks to packed venues of headbangers. Stay tuned for more news on DARKNESS DIVIDED and get ready for Written In Blood, available everywhere on August 19, 2014.
"Darkness Divided has the most unique instrumental sections, from a sick drum beat to the most technical guitar riffs. This record will keep heavy music fans wanting more."
"Darkness Divided displays a technical prowess far beyond their years. More metal than core, they keep it heavy and brutal. If you're looking for the next big thing in Christian metal, look no further."
