Kickstand Productions Presents
Malci, Height Keech, Ialive, biggIDz
Producer/MC Malci toes a fine line of contrast in all forms. At points, his music is thoughtful straight forward jazzy boom-bap raps, than a song later it mutates into something experimental, futuristic and chaotic. It's somewhere between Quasimoto & Shabazz Palaces, Guru (of Gangstarr) & Death Grips.
Malci's music wears it's heart on it's sleeves-- showcasing an unorthodox and ever-evolving style unapologetically. It's strange, honest, and occasionally cryptic-- but still continues to turn heads thanks to its uniqueness and willingness to push the envelope. While his production influences are obvious -- ranging from J Dilla to Flying Lotus to Clams Casino, while his lyrics and delivery continue to shape shift to whichever soundscape he winds up at next. Subject matter for the emcee fluctuates just like his production-- its not out of pocket for him to name-drop a favorite author, reminisce about a guilt-ridden memory of a deceased friend and compare himself to an obscure jazz musician all in the same breath.
A still up-and-coming rapper, Malci is poised to continue an already rapid ascent. He has already shared bills with the likes of BadBadNotGood and Nnamdi Ogbonnya, as well as produced for fellow Chicago MC's Mykele Deville & Sol Patches.
